Description

The Coral is a 5-light chandelier built on two concentric drum tiers, each ringed with vertical glass rods that hang from matt gold upper and lower bands. The inner and outer tiers sit one inside the other, creating a layered drum approximately 41.5cm in diameter and 38.5cm tall. Five E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the structure, with light passing through the glass rods to cast soft diffused illumination and linear shadow patterns onto surrounding walls and ceilings.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the Coral works as a centrepiece over a dining table or as a focal point in a double-height hallway. The drop is adjustable via the chain, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a table surface or higher in open-plan spaces. The matt gold frame finish gives a warm, low-sheen tone that pairs with both warm wood interiors and cooler greys without the high reflection of polished brass.

Each tier uses a metal band to hold the glass rods in vertical alignment, with the rods themselves cut to consistent lengths to maintain the drum profile. The frame weighs 6.5kg, requiring a ceiling rose and joist capable of supporting the load plus the additional weight of five bulbs. The glass rods are individually replaceable if damaged, though the chandelier ships fully assembled and requires no additional construction beyond wiring into a standard UK ceiling rose.

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining light.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The chandelier itself measures 38.5cm tall, and when combined with the chain drop, it works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above. For dining tables, position the bottom of the chandelier 700-800mm above the table surface.

Can the glass rods be cleaned?

Yes. Turn off power at the mains, allow bulbs to cool, then wipe each glass rod with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal bands or using chemical sprays.

What ceiling support is needed?

The chandelier weighs 6.5kg before bulbs. It requires a ceiling rose mounted to a joist or ceiling batten capable of supporting at least 8-10kg to account for the chandelier, bulbs, and chain. Plasterboard-only fixings are not sufficient.
