Description

The Clasera is a 92cm diameter iron chandelier with nine candle-style arms radiating from a central column, each arm ending in an SES (E14) bulb holder. The matt black finish covers the entire frame, giving the metalwork a non-reflective surface that sharpens the profile of each arm and scroll detail. The chandelier weighs 5kg and hangs on a chain from a matching black ceiling rose.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights above 2.7m, the Clasera provides ambient light across a circular area approximately 3-4m in diameter when fitted with nine bulbs. The 54cm drop from ceiling rose to the base of the chandelier means the fitting typically hangs 600-700mm above a 2.1m dining table in a room with a 3m ceiling. The open radial form allows light to spread upwards and outwards rather than being concentrated downwards.

Each of the nine arms curves outward in a symmetrical pattern, with a turned bobbin-style detail at the base of each candle cup and a scrolled bracket supporting the arm from beneath. The matt black finish on the iron frame provides high contrast against white or pale-painted ceilings and walls, or tonal continuity in darker schemes. The SES bulb fitting accepts standard E14 candle bulbs up to 40W (sold separately), with most installations using warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a softer light output.

The chandelier is supplied with ceiling fixings suitable for solid ceilings. Installation in stairwells or double-height spaces where the chandelier will hang more than 2.5m above floor level may require additional chain to achieve the correct drop height, and periodic cleaning at that height is more involved than in standard-ceiling rooms.

The chandelier takes nine SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for softer ambient light that reduces running costs compared to traditional halogen candles.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 54cm drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 600-700mm above the table surface, which requires approximately 3m ceiling height to avoid the fitting sitting too low. In double-height entrance halls or stairwells additional chain can be added to drop the chandelier to the correct visual height.

Is the chain length adjustable?

Yes. The chain can be shortened on installation by removing links, or extended by adding chain of matching gauge and finish. Additional chain is available separately if needed for higher ceilings or stairwell installations.

How is the matt black finish maintained?

Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metalwork and do not use spray cleaners or polishes, which can leave residue on the matt finish.
