Description

The Caravelux is a 5-light chandelier with five curved arms rising from a cream-gold painted metal frame, each arm topped with a toile-print fabric shade featuring pastoral engravings. The frame itself is 63cm in diameter and 26cm in height before the chain suspension, with each arm holding an SES bulb socket rated to 60W (bulbs sold separately).

Designed for traditional dining rooms, bedrooms and sitting rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Caravelux pairs ambient overhead lighting with decorative fabric shades that soften the light output and add period detail. The chain suspension allows for drop adjustment on installation, making the chandelier adaptable to different room heights. The cream-gold finish on the metalwork has a lightly distressed appearance that reads as aged rather than bright.

The toile-print shades show pastoral scenes and bird motifs in a monochrome engraving style printed onto cream fabric. Each shade is cone-shaped with a slightly flared hem, and the print varies between shades to give visual interest when viewed from below. The combined metal frame, chain and fabric shades give the chandelier a 2kg total weight, requiring a ceiling rose rated for at least 3kg to accommodate safe installation.

Are the fabric shades included?

Yes. The Caravelux ships with five toile-print fabric shades as shown in the product image. The shades are fitted to the bulb holders before dispatch.

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes five SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 6-8W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for a soft ambient glow.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 26cm frame height plus chain suspension typically positions the chandelier 50-70cm below the ceiling once installed. Rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above allow enough clearance above a dining table or in a bedroom without the chandelier hanging too low.

Can the cream-gold finish be cleaned?

The metal frame can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. The fabric shades attract dust over time and can be gently vacuumed on a low setting with a soft brush attachment, or spot-cleaned with a barely-damp cloth if needed.
