Caelis 4 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Nickel

The Caelis is a 4-light chandelier built around a central tiered spindle in polished nickel, from which four horizontal arms extend in a cross formation. Each arm terminates in a cylindrical candle holder fitted with a clear optical glass disc and a suspended crystal droplet beneath. The chandelier takes four G9 bulbs (sold separately) with a maximum 33W load across all four lamps.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Caelis provides ambient light refracted through the optical glass discs and reflected off the polished nickel metalwork. The 54cm diameter suits tables 1.2-1.6m long or central ceiling positions in rooms up to 4m square. The chandelier weighs 4kg and requires a ceiling rose rated for suspension fittings.

The optical glass discs are cut with facets that diffuse light radially, softening the direct output from the G9 bulbs and casting gentle reflections across the ceiling and walls. The polished nickel finish gives a cool metallic tone that pairs with both traditional and transitional interiors, particularly those with grey, white or pale blue palettes. The crystal droplets add vertical movement without the density of a full crystal chandelier.

The four-arm cross layout distributes light evenly in four directions, making the Caelis particularly effective over square or round tables where traditional linear chandeliers would create uneven coverage. The 36cm body height combined with the suspension chain allows the fitting to be set 700-900mm above a dining surface depending on ceiling height and personal preference.

What bulbs does the Caelis take?

The chandelier takes four G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum combined load of 33W, so approximately 8W per bulb if using LED. G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white 2700K-3000K LEDs for dining room use.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 36cm body height plus suspension chain works in rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings. Over a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a minimum ceiling height of around 2.5m to avoid head clearance issues when standing.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs fitted. Use dimmable G9 LED bulbs paired with a trailing-edge LED dimmer for best results. Non-dimmable bulbs will flicker or fail if connected to a dimmer circuit.

How is the optical glass cleaned?

The glass discs and crystal droplets can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a small amount of glass cleaner on the cloth is acceptable. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the fitting as it may run into the lamp holders or onto the nickel metalwork.
