Caelis 28 Light Optical Glass Chandelier - Polished Nickel

The Caelis is a 28 light chandelier built across three tiers of polished nickel arms, each tier carrying optical glass elements and cut crystal droplets. The overall frame spans 100cm in diameter with a 75cm drop from the canopy to the lowest tier, giving the fitting substantial presence in large vertical spaces. Each of the 28 arms terminates in a G9 bulb holder (bulbs sold separately), with the optical glass forms surrounding each bulb position acting as light multipliers.

Designed for foyers with ceiling heights of 3.5m or above, large staircases and double-height reception rooms, the Caelis hangs centrally where its full diameter and tiered structure can be appreciated from multiple levels. The three-tier layout distributes the 28 lights vertically and radially, so the chandelier fills height without creating a single dense cluster of bulbs. The open framework between tiers allows light to pass upwards and outwards, preventing the fitting from blocking sightlines or creating heavy shadows on the ceiling.

The polished nickel finish gives a cool-toned metallic sheen that pairs with greys, whites and other neutral palettes common in contemporary and transitional interiors. The optical glass components are precision-cut with faceted edges, so they catch and refract light when the chandelier is lit and remain visually interesting when switched off. At 26kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing to a reinforced joist or structural beam — this is not a plasterboard-only installation.

What bulb does it take and are they included?

The Caelis takes 28 x G9 capsule bulbs, maximum 33W total across all fittings. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use 2-3W G9 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to balance light output with energy consumption.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 75cm drop and 100cm diameter suit ceiling heights of 3.5m or above. In foyers or staircases with lower ceilings the chandelier will dominate the space visually and may hang too close to head height at ground level.

Can it be fitted to a standard ceiling rose?

No. At 26kg the chandelier requires fixing to a reinforced ceiling joist or structural beam capable of supporting the full weight plus safety margin. A qualified electrician should assess the ceiling structure before ordering.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulbs fitted. Most dimmable G9 LED bulbs work with trailing-edge dimmers, but compatibility should be confirmed with the specific bulb and dimmer model before installation.
