Description
The Bonelle is a 16-light chandelier built on two tiers of scrolled metal arms, finished in hand-painted cream with a low-sheen surface that softens reflections under natural and artificial light. The central column rises through turned spheres and curved metalwork before terminating in a spherical finial at the base. Each of the 16 candle-style arms holds a single SES bulb holder (bulbs sold separately), arranged as 8 lights on the upper tier and 8 on the lower.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 3.5m or above, the Bonelle measures 116cm in diameter and 107cm in drop, giving it substantial presence in large-volume spaces. The two-tier arrangement distributes light vertically as well as horizontally, filling tall rooms more evenly than single-tier chandeliers. The 10kg weight requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or cross-braced support.
The hand-painted cream finish is applied over raw metal and shows slight tonal variation between sections where the paint settles differently on curves versus flat surfaces. This gives the chandelier a deliberately aged character rather than the uniform appearance of powder-coated or sprayed finishes. The scrollwork and central column reference 18th-century Dutch chandeliers but the scale and proportions suit contemporary interiors with period architectural details.
Each arm accepts a maximum 40W SES bulb. Most installations pair the chandelier with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs for lower running costs and reduced heat output. The cream finish works in interiors with warm whites, soft greys and heritage greens, and pairs with oak, walnut and painted joinery.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Bonelle take?
The chandelier takes 16 x SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, maximum 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 4-6W LED candle bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for lower running costs and reduced heat output from the fitting.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 107cm drop and 116cm diameter suit rooms with ceiling heights of 3.5m or above. In a double-height entrance hall or stairwell the chandelier typically hangs with its lowest point 2.2-2.5m above floor level to maintain head clearance on staircases.
How is the cream finish applied?
The finish is hand-painted over raw metal, giving slight tonal variation between sections where the paint settles differently on curved versus flat surfaces. This creates an aged, artisan character rather than the uniformity of powder-coated or sprayed finishes.
What support does the ceiling need?
The chandelier weighs 10kg. It must be fixed into a ceiling joist or onto a cross-braced support between joists. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient for this weight. Professional installation is recommended.
