Description

The Bloomline is a 45cm semi-flush ceiling light with a satin nickel frame supporting a bowl-shaped opal glass diffuser. Two curved metal arms extend from a central ceiling mount to hold the bowl 33cm below the ceiling, creating a semi-flush profile that sits closer to the ceiling than a pendant but projects further than a flush mount. The fitting takes two SES (E14) bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), which diffuse through the opal glass to provide ambient light across a room.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the Bloomline suits hallways, bedrooms, compact living rooms and landings where overhead light is needed without taking up visual or physical headroom. The 33cm drop from ceiling to base of the bowl keeps the fitting clear of standard doorframes and allows comfortable passage underneath. The curved arms distribute weight evenly and give the fitting a balanced appearance when viewed from below.

The satin nickel finish is a mid-tone brushed metal that pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes, complementing stainless steel door furniture, chrome taps, brushed aluminium window frames and contemporary grey-toned schemes. The opal glass conceals the bulbs and filament detail while still allowing enough light transmission to act as general room lighting. At 4kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixings — the weight comes primarily from the metal frame and glass bowl rather than decorative embellishment.

The Bloomline takes two SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for general room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 33cm drop from ceiling to the base of the bowl makes this a semi-flush fitting rather than a full pendant, so it suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above without creating a low-hanging obstruction.

What's the difference between semi-flush and flush mount?

A flush mount sits tight against the ceiling with minimal or no projection. A semi-flush (like the Bloomline) drops 20-40cm below the ceiling on arms or a short stem, giving more presence and better light distribution while still keeping clearance below for doorways and passage.

Can the glass bowl be cleaned?

Yes. The opal glass diffuser can be removed for cleaning once the bulbs are taken out and power is isolated. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry before refitting to avoid water marks.
