Bellen 6 Light Czech Crystal Chandelier - Chrome

The Bellen is a 6-arm Czech crystal chandelier built around a chrome central column with curved clear glass arms extending from a central bobeche assembly. Each arm terminates in a traditional faux-candle SES bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately) set into a crystal-trimmed glass sconce. Cut crystal droplets hang in swags beneath each arm and from the central assembly, while larger teardrop-shaped pendants hang from the outermost points and the base of the column.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and formal lounges with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Bellen sits 61cm across and drops 58cm from the ceiling rose to the lowest crystal pendant. The six arms are arranged symmetrically in two tiers, creating a balanced silhouette when viewed from any angle. The 7kg weight requires secure fixing to a load-bearing ceiling joist or a suitable ceiling anchor rated for the chandelier mass plus the weight of six bulbs.

The chrome finish provides a cool metallic base that allows the glass and crystal to reflect ambient daylight and artificial light without competing for attention. The clear glass arms show slight tonal variation and optical distortion depending on viewing angle, which is characteristic of traditional blown-glass chandelier components. Each crystal droplet is facet-cut to disperse light when the bulbs are lit, throwing scattered reflections onto walls and ceilings. The chandelier pairs with both classical period interiors and contemporary rooms where a traditional centrepiece anchors an otherwise minimal scheme.

What bulbs does the Bellen take?

The chandelier uses six SES (Small Edison Screw, E14) candle-style bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to mimic traditional incandescent light while reducing energy consumption.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 58cm drop from ceiling rose to lowest crystal pendant requires a ceiling height of at least 2.7m for the chandelier to sit comfortably above head height in circulation areas. For installation above a dining table, a ceiling height of 2.4m is workable if the chandelier is centred over the table rather than in a walkway.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer switch. Traditional incandescent or halogen SES candle bulbs dim on standard rotary or trailing-edge dimmers without issue.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Wipe each crystal droplet individually with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For heavier dust or grease build-up, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately with a second cloth to prevent water marks. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on the crystal or chrome frame.
