Description

The Azure is a 5-light crystal semi-flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome canopy and a 41cm diameter cylindrical drum of faceted crystal orbs. Each layer of the drum consists of clear crystal discs and spheres threaded onto a chrome frame, creating a rippled, multi-dimensional surface that catches and reflects light from the five E14 bulbs positioned inside the drum.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a pendant would hang too far into the space, the Azure fits bedrooms, hallways, dressing rooms and smaller lounges needing decorative lighting without losing headroom. The 30cm drop positions the crystal drum close to the ceiling, allowing it to function as both ambient light and a decorative focal point without interfering with movement below. The five E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the crystal layers, so the light reflects outward through the faceted surfaces.

The polished chrome canopy and internal frame give a high-shine contrast to the clear crystal, creating sharp reflections under daylight and prismatic light scatter when the bulbs are lit. The crystal orbs are faceted to maximise refraction, so the fitting produces both direct and diffused light depending on bulb type. The Azure takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting, or clear filament bulbs for a more decorative effect visible through the crystal.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 30cm drop makes it suitable for standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m and above. The semi-flush format keeps the crystal drum close to the ceiling without hanging into the room like a pendant would.

How is the crystal drum cleaned?

The crystal orbs can be wiped with a soft dry cloth or a barely-damp microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, remove the crystal layers from the frame and wash gently in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry before reassembling. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.

What ceiling fixing is required?

The fitting weighs 7.3kg, so it must be fixed to a ceiling joist or a secure anchor rated for the weight. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. If you're unsure about the ceiling structure, consult a qualified electrician before installation.
