Description
The Ashcroft is a 95cm diameter iron chandelier with eight candle-style bulb holders arranged around a circular frame, suspended on double chains from a central aged bronze canopy. Each of the eight SES (small Edison screw) bulb positions sits on a raised arm extending from the main ring, with decorative bolt detailing and gothic-style spiked elements along the perimeter. The chandelier weighs 16kg and carries an aged bronze finish across the entire metalwork.
Designed for dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, double-height entrance halls, and vaulted spaces with exposed beams, the Ashcroft provides ambient lighting through eight individual light sources arranged in a symmetrical pattern. The 84cm drop from canopy to base means the chandelier typically hangs 60-75cm above a dining table in a 3m-high room, or can be positioned higher in taller spaces. The double chain suspension distributes the 16kg weight evenly and adds visual emphasis to the vertical drop.
The aged bronze finish darkens the natural iron surface with a patinated tone that shows slight variation across different sections of the metalwork, emphasising the hand-forged character of the frame. The squared vertical supports, decorative bolt heads, and spiked gothic detailing along the ring give the chandelier a medieval-inspired appearance that pairs with traditional oak furniture, exposed stonework, and heavy timber beam ceilings. Each of the eight arms accepts a 60W maximum SES bulb (sold separately), allowing the total light output to be calibrated by bulb choice.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Ashcroft take?
The chandelier takes eight SES (small Edison screw, E14 base) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this chandelier with candle-style LED filament bulbs in warm white (2700K) to suit the traditional aesthetic.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 84cm drop works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. In a typical dining room with a 3m ceiling, the chandelier hangs approximately 60-75cm above the table surface. For double-height or vaulted spaces, the chains can be shortened during installation if needed.
Is the chandelier suitable for sloped ceilings?
The double-chain suspension allows the chandelier to hang vertically even when fitted to a sloped or vaulted ceiling, provided the ceiling rose is mounted securely. The chains naturally align the frame to hang level regardless of ceiling angle.
How is the aged bronze finish maintained?
The aged bronze patina is part of the design and does not require polishing. Dust with a dry microfibre cloth periodically. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal polishes, as these will remove the aged finish and expose brighter metal underneath.
