Description
The Yorken is a 24-light 9-tier crystal chandelier built on a chrome frame, with a 175cm drop and a 60cm diameter at its widest tier. Each of the nine tiers carries rows of faceted crystal strands that cascade downward in a tapered pyramid form, narrowing from the top tier to the base. The chrome frame runs through the centre column and around each tier ring, holding the crystal strands in place and reflecting light back through the facets.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, open stairwells and voids where ceiling height exceeds 3.5m, the Yorken requires vertical clearance to show its full 175cm taper. The 24 SES bulb holders sit behind the crystal tiers, with a maximum of 25W per bulb, giving a combined 600W potential output when fully loaded. The chrome and crystal combination suits interiors with polished floors, glass balustrades and cool-toned palettes where the reflective surfaces amplify available light.
Each tier is independently wired and the crystal strands hang from individual hooks on the chrome rings, allowing individual replacement if a strand is damaged. The complete fitting weighs 21kg, requiring a ceiling joist, RSJ or strengthened ceiling rose capable of bearing that load safely. The 60cm diameter clears most standard stairwell widths while maintaining presence in larger entrance halls and landings.
The pyramid taper creates a downward visual pull that works in voids where the chandelier is viewed from multiple floor levels. The chrome finish pairs with stainless steel handrails, polished nickel door furniture and contemporary grey or white interiors. The faceted crystal cut style scatters light in multiple directions rather than casting a single beam, so the fitting acts as both ambient and decorative light when the bulbs are on.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The chandelier takes 24 SES (E14 small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 25W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 3-5W each and 2700K-3000K for ambient light without excessive heat build-up.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 175cm drop requires a minimum ceiling height of 3.5m to avoid the base tier sitting too low. The chandelier is designed for double-height entrance halls, open stairwells and voids where the full taper can be appreciated from multiple levels.
Can it support the 21kg weight?
The ceiling fixing point must be capable of bearing 21kg safely. This typically requires fixing to a ceiling joist, RSJ or a strengthened ceiling rose. Standard plasterboard fixings are not adequate — consult a qualified electrician before installation.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Each crystal strand can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth or a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. For deeper cleaning, individual strands can be unhooked from the chrome rings, washed in warm soapy water, rinsed and dried before re-hanging.
