Description

The Trace Freestyle is a 5-seater modular sofa built from five separate armless cushion blocks, each with a removable cover printed with red and black graffiti-style graphics on an ivory base fabric. The sofa measures 286cm wide by 204cm deep when configured in the L-shape shown, with each cushion block sitting 53cm high from floor to top of seat.

Designed for open-plan living rooms, media rooms and creative spaces where the furniture needs to adapt to different uses, the modular construction allows each block to be reconfigured into straight runs, L-shapes or separated entirely. The covers unzip and remove completely, so the graffiti-print surface can be replaced with a neutral ivory base fabric (six base fabric shades are available) or washed separately when needed. The low 53cm height suits contemporary interiors with lower ceiling heights and pairs comfortably with low coffee tables.

The upholstery fabric is certified European textile rated to 100,000 Martindale cycles for abrasion resistance, with water-repellent impregnation and anti-claw surface treatment built into the weave. This makes the fabric suitable for homes with pets and for contract use in hospitality breakout areas. The graffiti print is heat-transfer dyed into the fabric rather than surface-printed, so the pattern does not fade or crack with repeated cleaning. Each cushion block is filled with high-density foam and sits on a metal frame underneath the upholstery.

Each module and cover can be purchased individually from Nomu, allowing the sofa to be extended with additional blocks or covers swapped out for different graphic designs as they are released. The blocks connect by alignment rather than mechanical fixings, so repositioning the layout does not require tools.

The covers are removable but the graffiti print is heat-transfer dyed into European-certified fabric with water-repellent and anti-claw treatments. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended for most marks. Can I buy additional modules to extend the sofa?

Yes. Each module and its cover can be purchased individually from Nomu, allowing the sofa to be extended with additional blocks or reconfigured into different layouts. The blocks align by placement rather than mechanical connection.

Each cushion block measures approximately 80-85cm deep, giving a generous lounging depth suitable for putting feet up or reclining. The exact dimensions vary slightly depending on cushion compression.

Is the base fabric different to the printed cover?

Yes. The graffiti-print cover removes to reveal a solid ivory base fabric underneath. Nomu offers six base fabric shades across the Trace range, so the sofa can present as a neutral piece when the printed cover is removed.
