Description

The Solyx is a 14cm square recessed brick light housing a single 4W LED module that emits 3000K warm white light through a flush-mounted tempered glass diffuser. The fitting is built from die-cast aluminium with a powder-coated black finish and carries an IP65 rating, making it suitable for installation into exterior walls, driveways, patios and steps where it will be exposed to rain and driven water.

Designed for pathway marking, driveway edges, building facade accents and garden wall features, the Solyx sits flush with the mounting surface once installed, leaving a low-profile 90mm x 90mm faceplate visible and a 45mm recess depth behind. The recessed mounting protects the light source from physical impact and keeps the fitting from projecting into circulation zones. The 3000K LED provides enough illumination to define step edges, mark path boundaries and add architectural accent lighting without creating glare.

The die-cast aluminium body disperses heat effectively without requiring external cooling fins, and the tempered glass diffuser is impact-resistant to 5J. The black powder-coated finish resists UV degradation and surface corrosion in coastal and industrial environments. The non-dimmable 4W LED draws minimal power, making it practical to run multiple fittings on a single circuit for continuous pathway or facade lighting.

What does the IP65 rating mean?

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can be installed in exterior walls, driveways and patios where it will be exposed to rain, hose-down cleaning and driven water, but is not rated for full immersion.

What recess depth is needed for installation?

The fitting requires a 45mm recess depth behind the mounting surface, plus additional space for the back box and cable connections. The visible faceplate measures 90mm x 90mm square once installed.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 4W LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which equates to over 10 years at 8 hours per day.

Can it be used in driveways where vehicles pass over?

The Solyx can be installed in driveway edges and retaining walls adjacent to vehicle circulation, but the 90mm x 90mm faceplate should not be positioned where vehicle tyres will roll directly over it. For drive-over applications, a higher impact-rated fixture is recommended.
