Description

The Selia is an 870mm island chandelier built around a laser-cut gold crown of geometric panels arranged in a staggered profile, with rows of crystal droplets cascading vertically beneath. Six E14 bulb fittings sit within the crown structure, lighting the crystal from above and casting refracted light downward and outward through the vertical rods.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Selia provides both task lighting for work surfaces and ambient decorative light through the crystal diffusion. The 870mm width suits islands or tables between 1.8m and 2.4m in length, with the 340mm height giving enough visual presence without overwhelming typical residential ceiling heights. The suspension cables are adjustable on installation, allowing the fitting to be hung 700-900mm above the surface depending on room proportions.

The gold finish on the crown panels has a brushed surface that softens reflections and pairs with warm-toned interiors, oak or walnut joinery, brass hardware and cream or off-white wall colours. The crystal rods are faceted to catch and break light, creating micro-reflections that change depending on viewing angle and ambient light levels. The combined weight of the gold metalwork and crystal is 15.1kg, so the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing to joists or a reinforced ceiling rose rather than plasterboard-only fixings.

The Selia takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for a warm ambient glow that complements the gold finish. Clear or filament-style bulbs work well if the bulbs are visible through the crown structure.

What size table or island does it suit?

The 870mm width works best above islands or dining tables between 1.8m and 2.4m in length. For longer islands a second Selia or a different multi-pendant layout may be needed to provide even light distribution along the full length.

Is the suspension height adjustable?

Yes. The cables are adjustable during installation, allowing the fitting to be hung at the appropriate height for your ceiling and surface. Typically 700-900mm above a worktop or table gives good task light without obstructing sightlines.

What fixing does the ceiling need?

The fitting weighs 15.1kg, so it must be fixed to a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose. Plasterboard-only fixings are not suitable. If you are unsure about the ceiling structure, consult a qualified electrician before installation.
