Description
The Seidy DTO50 is a round recessed spotlight that takes a single MR16 lamp on a Gx5.3 (GU5.3) two-pin base, running on 12V AC or DC at up to 10W. It sits flush in the ceiling on a compact Ø92 mm trim that drops in just 26 mm deep, so it stays neat against the line of the ceiling. Sold in many markets simply as a recessed spotlight or MR16 ceiling spot, it gives a clean directional pool of light from the reflector lamp you fit, with the beam spread set by your chosen MR16 rather than by the housing itself.
The fitting suits living rooms, hallways, landings and bedrooms where a tidy row or grid of recessed spots is wanted, and its shallow 26 mm depth helps where the void above the ceiling is tight. Because it runs at 12V it needs a suitable low-voltage transformer, which makes it a common choice for refurbishment work and feature areas. Spaced across a ceiling, several of these heads build up an even wash for general use; individually each one throws a focused spot, so they also work well aimed at a worktop edge, artwork or a shelf where you want emphasis rather than broad fill.
Construction is aluminium alloy with a matte white finish that blends into a painted ceiling, and the round housing weighs only 102 g. The IP rating is IP20, so this is a dry indoor fitting only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp position. The MR16 lamp is not included, which lets you pick the wattage, colour temperature and beam angle to suit the room, and dimming depends on the lamp and transformer you pair it with. The Seidy spotlight range includes further recessed options to match across a scheme.

Frequently Asked
Can this spotlight be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. The Seidy DTO50 is rated IP20, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, shower zones, porches and any outdoor or damp location, and choose an IP65-rated fitting for those areas instead.
Does it need a transformer?
Yes. It runs at 12V AC or DC, so it must be wired to a suitable low-voltage transformer or LED driver rather than straight to mains. Match the transformer rating to the total wattage of the MR16 lamps you connect.
Is the MR16 lamp included, and can it be dimmed?
The lamp is not supplied, so you choose your own MR16 with a Gx5.3 base up to 10W. This lets you set the colour temperature and beam angle to suit the room. Whether it dims depends on the lamp and transformer you pair with it.
How do I clean it?
Switch it off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the matte white trim with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners so the finish stays even, and do not let moisture reach the lamp holder.
