Description
The Sabik is a recessed LED step light that drops flush into the wall to mark stairs, hallways and changes of level. It runs on 12V DC, draws just 0.8W and gives 13 lumens at a warm 3000K tone, so it casts a soft pool of guide light rather than flooding the area. A built-in PIR sensor brings it on as someone approaches, which keeps it dark and unobtrusive the rest of the time. Known in the UK as a step light, this is the fitting US buyers tend to call a recessed stair or step marker, set into the wall at low level.
The square 75 by 75 mm face suits internal staircases, landings, corridors and the base of a wall run where a low glow helps with footing after dark. Because it is a low-output marker rather than ambient room lighting, it does not light a room on its own. Think of it as wayfinding: a gentle warm wash across the tread or floor immediately below it, spaced along a flight so each step has its own marker. The PIR means it only fires when there is movement nearby, which suits a hallway or stairwell that is otherwise left unlit overnight.
Construction is polished stainless steel with a plastic body, finished in steel for a clean low-profile face once recessed. The fitting is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor use only and should be kept out of bathrooms, porches and any exposed location. It is not dimmable, runs from a 12V DC supply and is rated for 50,000 hours. Mounting is recessed into the wall via the square cut-out, leaving only the steel trim proud. The wider Sabik range includes matching markers to run a consistent look along a staircase.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a separate 12V transformer or driver?
Yes. The Sabik runs on 12V DC rather than direct mains, so it needs a suitable 12V driver or transformer wired in. Size the supply to cover the total wattage of every step light on the circuit, with each unit drawing only 0.8W.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. This fitting is rated IP20, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, gardens and any damp or exposed location, and use it for internal stairs, landings and hallways instead.
How is it installed?
It recesses into the wall through a square cut-out, sitting flush so only the stainless steel trim shows. Position it at low level along a staircase or corridor, and run the 12V supply behind the wall to each unit.
How do I clean the steel face?
Wipe the polished stainless steel trim with a soft, slightly damp cloth and buff dry to avoid water marks. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals so the finish stays bright, and clean with the supply switched off.
