The Ripple is a 42cm diameter crystal drum pendant with five integrated LED modules set behind contoured clear crystal elements arranged in a ripple-like grid across the 32cm-high cylindrical shade. The crystal sits within a polished chrome frame suspended on fine steel cables, creating the appearance of a floating light source. The white diffuser panel behind the crystal softens the light into ambient illumination rather than direct task light.

Designed for dining rooms, kitchen islands above 2m-wide surfaces, and lounge areas with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above, the Ripple provides mid-level ambient light with a decorative visual element. The 42cm diameter makes it proportional to tables seating 4-6 people or island worktops between 2-2.5m in length. The undulating crystal surface catches daylight and reflects interior lighting as viewing angles shift, adding visual depth throughout the day.

Each crystal element is individually faceted and positioned at a slight offset from its neighbours, creating the ripple pattern that gives the pendant its name. The polished chrome frame mirrors the surrounding space and reinforces the geometric precision of the crystal arrangement. At 5.8kg the fitting requires a ceiling joist or reinforced fixing point rather than a standard plasterboard rose. The integrated AC COB LED modules are rated at 5W combined output. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with AC COB LED technology.

What ceiling height is required?

The 32cm height of the shade itself means the pendant works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above. For dining tables or kitchen islands the pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, requiring a total ceiling height of around 2.5-2.7m to avoid feeling compressed.

Does it require reinforced ceiling fixing?

Yes. At 5.8kg the Ripple requires fixing into a ceiling joist or a reinforced fixing point capable of supporting at least 8-10kg. A standard plasterboard ceiling rose is not sufficient — the fixing must be secured to structural timber or concrete.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow the fitting to cool. Wipe each crystal element with a dry microfibre cloth. For more persistent marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or allowing water to reach the LED modules or cable entry points.
