Description

The PowerMaster 6-sided outdoor wall lantern combines a black aluminium frame with six clear glass panels in a traditional coach-style housing. The lantern takes a single ES (E27) bulb up to 60W and carries an IP44 weather resistance rating, protecting against rain and solid objects larger than 1mm.

Designed for porches, front door surrounds, garage entrances and covered patio areas, the lantern mounts directly to an exterior wall using a rear-facing bracket. The IP44 rating covers Zone 3 outdoor use, meaning areas protected from direct water jets but exposed to rain and wind. The six-sided glass construction allows light to spread in multiple directions rather than projecting forward only, making the fitting suitable for recessed doorways and corners where side illumination is useful.

The black powder-coated aluminium frame resists corrosion in damp conditions and pairs with both period-style brick facades and contemporary rendered exteriors. At 0.96kg the lantern is light enough to mount on standard exterior walls without additional reinforcement. The clear glass panels allow full light transmission, so pairing the fitting with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K gives traditional coach-light aesthetics with modern running costs.

What bulb does it take?

The lantern takes a standard ES (E27 Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to replicate traditional incandescent coach-light appearance.

Can it be used in all outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating covers Zone 3 outdoor areas — locations protected from direct water jets but exposed to rain and wind. This includes covered porches, doorways with overhangs, and garage entrances. It is not suitable for fully exposed garden walls or areas subject to water jets from cleaning.

Is the lantern dimmable?

The fitting itself does not include dimming circuitry. Dimming depends on whether you pair it with a dimmable LED bulb and install it on a dimmer-compatible circuit. Check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer switch.

How is it mounted?

The lantern mounts to an exterior wall using a rear-facing bracket. Standard masonry fixings (screws and wall plugs) are required, suited to the wall material — brick, render or composite cladding. The 0.96kg weight does not require reinforcement on typical exterior walls.
