Description

The PowerMaster 4-sided wall lantern pairs a traditional coach-style housing with a 120° PIR motion sensor, automatically activating when movement is detected within an 8-metre range. The lantern body is constructed from aluminium with a white powder-coat finish, and four clear glass panels allow light to project in all directions once an ES (E27) bulb is fitted.

Designed for porches, doorways, patios and garden walls, the lantern provides both security lighting and decorative accent. The PIR sensor sits integrated into the lower housing and can be adjusted for detection sensitivity and duration timing. The IP43 rating protects the internal components from rain spray and dust when mounted vertically under a covered area or soffit.

The 205mm width and 380mm height give the lantern sufficient presence for front entrances and garage doors without overwhelming narrow wall sections. The white finish pairs well with rendered, painted brick and uPVC surfaces in both period and contemporary settings. The lantern accepts any standard ES bulb up to the maximum wattage specified in the fitting instructions, allowing control over light colour and brightness.

What is the PIR detection range?

The PIR sensor has a 120° detection angle and triggers within an 8-metre range. Sensitivity and timer duration are typically adjustable via controls on the sensor unit itself, allowing you to fine-tune activation distance and how long the light stays on after motion stops.

Can this be used in exposed positions?

The IP43 rating protects against rain spray from angles up to 60° from vertical, making it suitable for covered porches, soffits and recessed doorways. It is not rated for fully exposed positions with direct overhead rain or high-pressure water jets.

What bulb does it take?

The lantern uses a standard ES (E27) Edison screw bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED bulb for exterior security and ambient lighting.

Does the PIR override a light switch?

The PIR sensor operates automatically when the fitting is powered. If wired to a switched circuit, the switch controls whether the PIR has power to function. Turning the switch off disables the sensor and the light completely.
