Description

The PowerMaster 4-sided wall lantern is a downward-facing outdoor light with four leaded-effect glass panels set in a silver-black aluminium frame. The lantern measures 322mm in height, 176mm in width and 151mm in depth, housing a single E27 lampholder that accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately). The leaded glass creates a diamond pattern across each panel, breaking up the light source when viewed from outside.

Designed for porches, front doors, garage walls and covered garden areas, the lantern carries an IP23 rating which protects against vertical dripping water and solid objects larger than 12.5mm. This rating makes it suitable for Zone 3 outdoor areas — locations with overhead cover where direct rainfall is minimal but atmospheric moisture is present. The downward-facing design keeps rain off the glass panels and reduces water pooling on horizontal surfaces.

The aluminium frame resists corrosion better than mild steel in damp outdoor conditions, and the silver-black finish sits between polished chrome and matt black, giving a weathered metallic appearance that pairs with both grey render and traditional brick exteriors. The 1.1kg weight is light enough for most masonry wall substrates without needing specialist fixings. What bulb does it take?

The lantern takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GLS bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for outdoor use, which provides adequate light for porches and doorways without excessive glare.

Can it be used in exposed outdoor locations?

The IP23 rating protects against vertical dripping water but not horizontal spray or driving rain. It is suitable for Zone 3 outdoor areas — locations with overhead cover such as porches, covered patios and recessed doorways. Do not install in fully exposed positions without overhead protection.

Is the lantern dimmable?

The fixture itself does not include dimming electronics. Dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb you choose to install. If you use a dimmable LED bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch wired to the circuit, the light output can be controlled.

What fixing method is used?

The lantern mounts to an external wall via a back plate with screw holes. Suitable for masonry, brick and rendered walls using appropriate wall plugs and screws. The 1.1kg weight does not require specialist heavy-duty fixings on solid substrates.
