The Phosara is a 10-metre fabric lighting cable with a copper-coloured textile sheath over a 5mm diameter twin-core conductor. The fabric outer provides a decorative alternative to standard PVC flex, allowing the cable run itself to become a visible design element in pendant light installations, track lighting extensions, and custom lamp wiring.

Designed for pendant lights hung from ceiling roses, chandelier drops, and exposed-cable installations where the flex is part of the aesthetic, the Phosara suits vintage, industrial and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The fabric sheath flexes more readily than rigid flex, making it easier to loop, swag or dress cable runs without kinking. The 10-metre length allows for high-ceiling drops, multi-pendant arrangements, or cutting to shorter custom lengths as needed.

The copper tone sits between burnt orange and terracotta depending on lighting conditions, pairing well with brass fittings, warm wood tones, and exposed brick. The textile weave is a smooth, tightly braided construction that hides the inner conductors while remaining flexible enough to route around ceiling hooks or cable grips. The 5mm diameter is compact enough to pass through small-bore ceiling roses and lamp holder entries without forcing the aperture.

The Phosara is sold as cable only — no plug, no lamp holder, no ceiling rose. It is intended for hard-wiring into ceiling roses or terminal blocks by a qualified electrician. The fabric sheath is not flame-retardant to BS EN standards, so this cable is suitable for decorative domestic installations where the cable is not subjected to heat from high-wattage bulbs in enclosed shades.

Can this cable be used with ceiling roses?

Yes. The 5mm diameter passes through standard UK ceiling rose apertures. The cable must be hard-wired into the ceiling rose terminal block by a qualified electrician — it does not come with a plug or pre-fitted lamp holder.

Can I cut the cable to a shorter length?

Yes. The 10-metre length can be cut to any shorter length needed for your installation. Once cut, the ends must be stripped and terminated correctly into a ceiling rose, lamp holder or junction box.

Is the fabric sheath fire-rated?

No. This fabric cable is not rated to BS EN flame-retardant standards. It is suitable for decorative domestic installations where the cable is not subjected to heat from high-wattage bulbs in enclosed shades or positioned close to hot surfaces.
