Description

The Phosara is a 10m braided fabric cable with a copper-coloured textile sheath over a standard two-core or three-core electrical core. The 10mm diameter cable combines flexible copper-tone fabric with inner PVC insulation, providing both a decorative finish and electrical safety for pendant light installations, table lamp rewiring, and custom lighting projects.

Designed to be cut to length on site, the cable suits pendant drops from ceiling roses, wall-mounted lamp installations, and DIY lighting builds where visible cable becomes part of the design. The braided fabric sheath flexes easily around corners and through cable grips without kinking, and the copper tone works across industrial, mid-century, and warm contemporary interiors. The fabric covering conceals the inner cable and adds grip, making it easier to handle during installation than smooth plastic-sheathed cable.

The 10m length provides enough cable for multiple pendant drops in a kitchen island or dining room, or for a single long drop in a stairwell or double-height space. The copper weave shows slight tonal variation in different lighting conditions, shifting from a warm bronze under tungsten bulbs to a lighter rose-copper tone in daylight. The fabric is tightly woven to resist fraying when cut, though cable ends should be finished with a cable grip or strain relief fitting to prevent the weave loosening over time.

Can the cable be cut to length?

Yes. The 10m cable is designed to be cut to the exact length needed for your installation. Use a sharp blade to cut cleanly through both the fabric sheath and inner cores, then finish the cut end with a cable grip or strain relief fitting to prevent the fabric weave from unravelling.

What core configuration does it have?

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. The fabric sheath is not rated for outdoor exposure or damp environments. The cable is designed for interior use only, in dry locations away from direct moisture.

Does the fabric need any special care?

The braided fabric is pre-treated to resist dust but will accumulate surface dust over time like any textile. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth when the fitting is switched off and cool. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the fabric.
