Description

The Luminique is a 3-light crystal cascade chandelier built around a 3-metre vertical drop from a 31cm-diameter polished chrome canopy. Dozens of precision-cut crystal strands hang in uniform rows to form a cylindrical column, with three GU10 LED fittings positioned inside the canopy to illuminate the crystal from above. The fixture weighs 31kg once fully assembled and requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or structural support.

Designed for stairwells, entrance halls and double-height voids where ceiling heights exceed 3.5m, the Luminique provides a vertical accent without occupying floor space. The narrow 31cm diameter allows it to fit within standard stairwell widths, while the 3m drop ensures the lower crystal strands terminate well above head height on the ground floor. The polished chrome canopy and frame reflect light back through the crystal, amplifying sparkle in daylight and under evening lighting.

Each crystal strand is individually suspended on fine-gauge wire, creating movement and play of light as air circulates through the space. The fixture uses three GU10 LED bulbs at a maximum of 6W each (sold separately), keeping heat output low and making bulb replacement straightforward from ceiling access. The polished chrome finish pairs with both warm-toned timber staircases and cooler marble or stone flooring in contemporary and classical interiors.

What ceiling height is required?

The 3m drop requires a minimum ceiling height of 3.5m to ensure the lower crystal strands clear head height on the ground floor. Stairwells and double-height entrance halls with ceiling heights of 4-5m are typical installation sites.

How is the 31kg weight supported?

The chandelier must be fixed into a structural ceiling joist or a reinforced mounting point capable of safely supporting 31kg. Standard plasterboard fixings are not adequate — installation by a qualified electrician is recommended.

What bulbs does it take?

The chandelier takes three GU10 LED bulbs with a maximum rating of 6W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LEDs at 2700K-3000K to complement the crystal's natural sparkle.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

No. The Luminique is supplied as a fixed 3m drop. If a shorter drop is needed, consider alternative chandelier models with adjustable suspension.
