Description

The Luma is an 83cm square flush chandelier with eight G9 bulb fittings concealed within a polished chrome frame, supporting several hundred individual faceted crystal beads and pyramid-cut droplets arranged in dense curtains below the ceiling plate. The chrome frame sits flat against the ceiling with only 21.5cm of drop, making this a low-ceiling chandelier option that retains crystal decoration without the vertical space requirement of a suspension fitting.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m, the Luma provides both ambient light through the G9 fittings and decorative sparkle from the crystal elements. The eight bulbs are distributed across the 83cm square frame to give even light coverage across a typical 4m x 4m room, with each G9 taking up to 28W (LED equivalents of 3-5W per bulb are typical). The flush mount means the fitting can be positioned directly above seating or dining areas without the risk of contact with a hanging pendant.

Each crystal element is individually wired onto the chrome frame in a repeating pattern, with pyramid-cut crystals forming the lowest tier and smaller faceted beads filling the upper sections. The polished chrome finish reflects both ambient daylight and the artificial light from the bulbs, multiplying the sparkle effect when the fitting is switched on. At 17.2kg the Luma requires ceiling joists capable of supporting its weight — standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient and the fitting must be secured to structural timber or a reinforced mounting plate.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 21.5cm drop from ceiling to lowest crystal makes this a flush chandelier designed specifically for ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, where a traditional suspension chandelier would hang too low. The low profile allows it to be fitted directly above dining tables or seating without risk of contact.

What bulbs does it take?

The Luma takes eight G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 28W maximum. Most users fit LED G9 bulbs between 3W and 5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient dining or living room light. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can it be fitted to a standard ceiling?

The 17.2kg weight requires secure fixing to ceiling joists or a reinforced mounting plate. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. The fitting must be installed by a qualified electrician who can locate structural support and ensure the ceiling can carry the load.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow the bulbs to cool fully. Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe each crystal element individually. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals and do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners.
