Description
The Liora is a 1400mm linear crystal island pendant built around a polished chrome rectangular frame housing 18 G9 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately). Layers of vertical-cut crystal prisms hang from the chrome frame in rows, refracting light from the halogen or LED G9 sources into fractured points across ceilings and walls. The fixture can be ceiling-mounted flush (27cm projection) or suspended on adjustable cables, making it adaptable to both standard 2.4m ceilings and tall double-height spaces.
Designed for positioning above kitchen islands, long dining tables and open-plan living areas where the elongated 1.4m form creates visual continuity along a horizontal axis. When suspended 700-900mm above an island or table surface, the fixture provides both task and ambient light while anchoring the room's sightlines. The dual-mount hardware allows the fitting to be installed flush against the ceiling in rooms where drop height is limited, or suspended on cables in taller voids where the fixture can hang as a centrepiece.
Each crystal prism is individually hung and facet-cut to maximise light refraction, so movement in the room (air currents, passing footfall) causes the light pattern to shift subtly. The polished chrome finish pairs cleanly with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and metallic kitchen hardware, while the crystal adds decorative weight to contemporary interiors that might otherwise feel too minimal. The 18 G9 fittings can each take up to 28W, allowing a combined maximum load of 504W, though most users fit 3-5W LED G9 bulbs for a combined output closer to 54-90W.
At 55kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixings capable of bearing the load — typically a reinforced ceiling joist or a steel spreader plate fitted between joists. The chrome canopy measures approximately 1400mm x 200mm and houses the suspension cables or flush-mount fixings. Installation by a qualified electrician is required due to the weight and the need to ensure safe load-bearing anchor points.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Liora take?
The fixture has 18 G9 fittings, each rated to a maximum of 28W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 3-5W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for a combined output of 54-90W, which provides ample light for a kitchen island or dining table while keeping energy consumption low.
Can it be installed on a standard ceiling?
Yes. The Liora can be flush-mounted with a 27cm projection, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceilings. Alternatively it can be suspended on cables for taller ceilings or vaulted spaces. The dual-mount hardware is included.
What ceiling support is required?
The 55kg weight requires secure fixings into a reinforced ceiling joist or a steel spreader plate fitted between joists. Standard plasterboard fixings are not sufficient. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician who can verify the ceiling structure can bear the load.
How is the crystal cleaned?
Switch off the power at the mains. Wipe each crystal prism with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as residue builds up on the facets and dulls the refraction.
