Description
The Knightsbridge OS0026W is a 93mm diameter mmWave radar occupancy sensor that mounts either surface-fixed or recessed into a ceiling or wall, controlling lighting loads up to 1000W LED or 2000W incandescent. The mmWave radar technology detects micro-movements including breathing and typing, providing higher sensitivity than passive infrared sensors that require larger body movement to trigger.
Designed for offices, corridors, commercial spaces and residential rooms where hands-free lighting control is needed, the sensor offers 360° detection when ceiling-mounted and 180° coverage when wall-mounted. Detection range, time delay and ambient light sensitivity are all adjustable via dials on the sensor body: range scales from 25% to 100% of the maximum detection radius, time delay adjusts from 10 seconds to 15 minutes, and the light sensor can be set to prevent activation during daylight hours.
The white polycarbonate housing measures 93mm diameter with a 36mm projection when surface-mounted, or 28mm recess depth when fitted into a ceiling void. The sensor operates on 230V 50Hz mains and carries IP20 ingress protection for indoor dry locations. Operating temperature range is -20°C to +40°C, making it suitable for unheated storage areas and server rooms as well as standard commercial and residential environments.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between mmWave and PIR sensors?
mmWave radar detects micro-movements like breathing and typing, whereas passive infrared (PIR) sensors require larger body movement to trigger. This makes mmWave more sensitive and less likely to switch lights off when someone is working at a desk or sitting still.
Can the detection range be adjusted?
Yes. The sensor has three adjustment dials: detection range scales from 25% to 100% of maximum radius, time delay adjusts from 10 seconds to 15 minutes, and ambient light sensitivity can be set to prevent activation during daylight.
What load can it control?
The sensor supports up to 1000W LED or 2000W incandescent lighting load on a 230V 50Hz mains circuit. For higher loads, pair the sensor with a contactor or relay.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The sensor carries IP20 ingress protection, which is suitable for indoor dry locations but not for bathroom zones where splash protection is required. Install outside bathroom zones or use an IP44-rated alternative for wet areas.
