Description
This K Series GU10 LED bulb is a directional spotlight that drops into the standard mains twist-lock GU10 fitting found across the UK and, in US terms, the same GU10 PAR16 spot lamp. It draws just 7W yet pushes out 1000 lumens at 6500K daylight, a crisp cool-white tone that reads clean and bright. The PAR16 form throws a fairly wide 100 degree beam, so the light spreads rather than spiking into a tight pool, and at an efficiency of 143 lm/W it is doing a lot with very little power.
Daylight at 6500K suits task and display areas where clarity matters more than a cosy glow, such as kitchens, utility spaces, garages, workshops and retail or display recessed downlight fittings. The 100 degree spread covers a broad cone, making it useful for general fill from a run of spots rather than narrow accenting, so several together wash a worktop or shelving evenly. This is a mains-voltage GU10 on 220-240V AC, not a low-voltage MR16, so no transformer or separate driver is needed. As an IP20 bulb it is for dry indoor use only and the fitting must suit the room.
The bulb measures 50mm in diameter by 58mm long and weighs 30g, with a white body and a colour rendering of Ra 80 for accurate enough everyday colour. It uses the twist-lock GU10 cap, replaces an old 71W halogen for roughly the same brightness on a fraction of the energy, and is rated for 15,000 hours. This bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard non-dimming switch. Other K Series GU10 spots are stocked in warmer tones if a softer light is preferred.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this bulb need?
It uses a GU10 cap, the twist-lock mains spotlight base. You push it in and give a quarter turn to lock it. It runs directly on 220-240V mains, so no transformer or driver is required.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
It draws only 7W but gives 1000 lumens, which matches roughly a 71W traditional halogen spot. You get the same usable brightness for a fraction of the running cost.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, it is non-dimmable. It should be used on a standard non-dimming switch, as fitting it to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or shorten its life.
What colour and beam does it give?
It produces a 6500K daylight tone, a crisp cool white, with a colour rendering of Ra 80. The beam is a wide 100 degrees, spreading light across an area rather than into a tight spot.
