Description
This GU5.3 MR16 LED bulb gives a directional spot of warm white light from a compact 5 W source. It draws just 5 W while replacing an older 26 W lamp, putting out 300 lumens at 3000K with a wide 120 degree beam, so the light spreads across a broad area rather than focusing to a tight pool. The two-pin GU5.3 cap is the low-voltage MR16 type, the same fitting many US buyers know as an MR16 bi-pin spot. Being low voltage, it runs from a 12V supply rather than direct mains.
This bulb suits recessed downlights, track heads and accent fittings that already take a low-voltage MR16 lamp, in kitchens, living rooms, hallways and display areas. The 120 degree spread is broad for a spotlight, so it works well for general accent washes over a worktop, shelving or a seating zone rather than a narrow pinpoint on a single object. Its coverage is best judged by the spread of each fitting rather than a room area, and several can be grouped along a track or a run of downlights to light a longer space. The warm 3000K tone keeps the light soft and relaxed for everyday rooms.
The lamp measures Ø50 by 51 mm in a white-finished MR16 body and weighs 44 g, the standard size for a low-voltage spot fitting. It runs on 12V AC or DC and therefore needs a matching transformer or LED driver, which most existing MR16 fittings already provide. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and the rated life is 25,000 hours. This bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a non-dimmed circuit. It is for dry indoor use only. Other GU5.3 spot lamps are available in the range to match across your fittings.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting do I need for this bulb?
It has a GU5.3 two-pin cap, the low-voltage MR16 type. Check that your fitting accepts a two-pin MR16 lamp before ordering, as this is not the same as a mains GU10 twist-lock spotlight.
Does it need a transformer?
Yes. As a low-voltage MR16 lamp it runs on 12V AC or DC, so it needs a matching transformer or LED driver. Most fittings designed for MR16 lamps already include one, but a mains circuit alone will not power it.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
The LED draws just 5 W yet replaces an older 26 W halogen-style spot, giving 300 lumens of warm white light. The 5 W figure is the actual power it uses, so you get the brightness for a fraction of the running cost.
Is it dimmable?
No, this bulb is non-dimmable, so use it on a standard non-dimmed circuit. The output is fixed at 300 lumens in a warm white 3000K tone with a wide 120 degree beam.
