Description

The Gilded is a 3 light chain curtain chandelier built around a 31cm chrome canopy that suspends a 100cm vertical cascade of fine metal chain links in a waterfall formation. Three GU10 LED downlights (sold separately, max 6W each) sit within the canopy, directing light down through the chain curtain and casting pattern reflections from the chrome links.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwell voids and landing spaces where ceiling heights exceed 3 metres, the Gilded uses vertical length as decorative form rather than relying on horizontal spread. The 31cm diameter keeps the canopy compact enough to avoid dominating narrower hallways while the 100cm drop creates a column of reflective texture through the centre of the vertical space. The 8kg weight requires a ceiling structure capable of bearing the load, typically solid timber joists or concrete.

The chrome finish on both the canopy and chain links reflects ambient daylight and creates a bright, high-contrast accent in contemporary interiors. The chain curtain moves slightly in air currents from opening doors or heating systems, adding a subtle kinetic element. The GU10 downlights provide functional task light at floor level in hallways and stairwells, while the chain curtain diffuses and softens the beam spread.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 100cm drop requires a minimum ceiling height of 3 metres to avoid the bottom of the chain curtain sitting at head height. The fitting works best in double-height entrance halls, stairwells and landing voids where the full vertical form can be appreciated.

What bulbs does it take?

The Gilded takes three GU10 LED bulbs, maximum 6W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm white 3000K GU10 LEDs between 4-6W for functional hallway lighting.

Can the chain length be adjusted?

The chain curtain is a fixed 100cm drop from the canopy. The overall suspension height can be adjusted by shortening the cable or chain that connects the canopy to the ceiling rose, but the waterfall cascade itself is a set length.

What fixing is required for the 8kg weight?

The 8kg weight requires fixing into solid timber joists or concrete. Plasterboard ceiling fixings are not suitable. If installing into a suspended ceiling or where joist positions are uncertain, a spreading plate or additional bracing may be needed above the ceiling.
