Description
The ERINUS is a recessed LED step light that sets a low, glare-free guide light into the wall at low level. It draws 1.5W from a 12V DC supply and gives 30 lumens of warm white 3000K light, enough to pick out a tread edge, skirting line or threshold without lighting the whole room. The square white faceplate measures roughly 80x20 in nominal terms, with an actual footprint of 75 x 16 x 75 mm so it sits neatly into a stud or block wall. Sold in the US as a recessed step light, it marks a route rather than washing a space, so the throw stays tight and directed downward toward the floor.
The fitting suits indoor stairs, landings, hallways and bedroom skirting runs where a soft floor-level marker helps movement at night. Because the light is directional and modest, coverage is best judged by what it picks out: the tread or floor immediately below and a short pool around the fitting, rather than an area in m². Set it into the wall a step or two apart along a staircase, or at intervals along a corridor base, for a consistent guide line. It is IP20 rated, so keep it to dry interior locations and clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor position.
Built from plastic with a clean white finish, the ERINUS recesses flush into the wall on a square 75 x 75 mm face and weighs just 26 g. It runs on a 12V DC supply, so it pairs with a low-voltage transformer feeding the circuit, and it is not dimmable. The CRI Ra 80 output keeps the warm white tone natural against painted walls and timber, and the rated 30,000 hour lifespan means little upkeep over its life.

Frequently Asked
Does it need a 12V transformer?
Yes. The ERINUS runs on a 12V DC supply, so it must be fed from a suitable low-voltage transformer or driver rather than wired directly to mains. Size the transformer to the total wattage of all the step lights on the circuit.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No. It carries an IP20 rating, which means it is for dry indoor use only. Keep it clear of bathrooms, porches, garden walls and any position exposed to damp or weather.
How is it installed?
It recesses into the wall at low level, sitting flush on its square 75 x 75 mm white face. Set the back box into a stud or block wall and run the 12V cable to the fitting before fixing the faceplate in place.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the white faceplate with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth to lift dust and marks. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners that could mar the plastic finish, and switch the circuit off before cleaning.
