Description

The Elara is a 158cm tall floor lamp built around a slender black metal stem supporting a smoked glass shade with an adjustable head. The single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the shade, and the head tilts on a pivot to direct light towards a reading position, desk surface, or upwards as wash lighting.

Designed as task lighting for reading corners, beside armchairs, or next to home office desks, the Elara provides directed light without the visual weight of a tripod or arc lamp. The smoked glass softens the light output and reduces glare while maintaining enough transparency to show the bulb filament when vintage-style LEDs are used. The 30cm diameter circular base provides stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs.

The matt black finish on the metal frame pairs with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors where black accents run through the scheme. The smoked glass adds tonal depth without introducing colour, allowing the lamp to sit comfortably in neutral, monochrome or warm-toned rooms. At 7kg the lamp has enough weight to resist tipping but remains light enough to be repositioned between rooms.

What bulb does it take?

The Elara takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-8W warm-white LED or a vintage-style filament LED for reading.

Can the head be adjusted?

Yes. The lamp head tilts on a pivot joint, allowing the light to be angled towards a reading position, a desk, or upwards onto a wall or ceiling as indirect wash lighting.

Is the smoked glass opaque or transparent?

The glass is translucent rather than opaque. It softens the light output and reduces glare but remains transparent enough to show the bulb filament when vintage-style LEDs are fitted.

Is it stable on rugs?

The 30cm circular base provides stability on bare floors and short-pile rugs. On thicker or shag rugs the lamp may benefit from being placed where part of the base sits on bare floor to prevent rocking.
