The Chollerford is a bone inlay card box measuring 12 x 8 x 4.5cm, featuring an Ace of Spades motif inlaid in off-white bone against a black ground on the lid. The box is constructed from wood with hand-applied bone inlay pieces forming the traditional playing card design, giving each box slight variations in the inlay pattern and spacing.

Designed as storage for a standard deck of playing cards, the box includes a soft-touch velvet lining inside and comes with one deck of playing cards. The box suits side tables, shelving in games rooms, or as a decorative accent on console tables where the playing card design adds thematic interest. The smooth finish on both the bone inlay and surrounding surfaces allows the box to be wiped clean without snagging cloth.

The bone inlay technique involves cutting small pieces of bone into shaped segments and setting them into recessed channels carved into the wooden base, then filling the gaps with black resin. The off-white tone of the bone sits close to cream rather than stark white, and the natural material shows subtle tonal variation between pieces. At 0.25kg the box has enough weight to feel substantial when handled but remains light enough to move between rooms.
