Description
This Addressable LED Strip is a flexible 5 metre reel of individually controllable RGB diodes, giving dynamic, chasing and sequenced effects rather than a single static glow. Each diode or segment responds to a compatible digital controller, so colour and movement can be programmed along the run. It draws up to 16W per metre and runs on a 24V DC supply, with a luminous output suited to accent and effect work rather than primary illumination. As an led tape light, this is the digital, per-pixel form rather than a plain colour-changing reel, so the whole strip can show several colours and patterns at once.
Because the light is decorative and directional along its length, coverage is best judged by where the run is placed rather than by floor area. It works well traced behind a TV unit, along shelving, under a worktop, around a cove or stair edge, or behind a headboard, where the sequenced colour adds depth without lighting the room outright. The strip is rated IP00, so it is for dry indoor positions only and should be kept clear of bathrooms, kitchens splash zones and any damp or outdoor setting. Plan the layout so the controller and driver sit close to the supply end of the reel.
The reel cuts to length at the marked points every 6.25 cm, letting you size each section to a shelf, frame or recess. It is a 24V DC strip, so it is not mains-direct and needs a matching 24V LED driver plus a compatible addressable controller, both specified to suit the total wattage of the run installed. Rated for around 30,000 hours, the diodes are integrated and not replaceable individually. We also stock plain single-colour and white-tone strips in the wider range for simpler accent runs.

Frequently Asked
Does this strip need a separate driver?
Yes. It is a 24V DC strip, so it does not connect straight to a mains socket. You will need a 24V LED driver rated for the total wattage of your run, at 16W per metre, plus a compatible addressable controller for the colour and chase effects.
Can the strip be cut to length?
Yes, the reel can be shortened at the marked cut points, which fall every 6.25 cm along its length. Only cut at these marks so the segments stay intact and continue to work.
Can it be used outdoors or in a bathroom?
No. This strip is rated IP00, which means dry indoor use only. Keep it out of bathrooms, kitchen splash areas and any damp, sheltered-outdoor or exposed position.
What makes an addressable strip different from a normal RGB one?
On an addressable strip each diode or segment is controlled individually through a compatible controller, so the strip can show several colours at once and run chasing or sequenced patterns. A standard RGB reel changes colour as a single block, while this one animates along its length.
