Description
This Knightsbridge 20AX double pole key switch module is marked EMG LTG TEST on the faceplate and finished in anthracite ABS with a steel internal mechanism. The module clips directly into the front of modular grid mounting frames (sold separately) without requiring screws or tools, allowing quick installation or replacement within a grid plate configuration. A removable key controls access to the switch, preventing unauthorised operation of the circuit.
Designed for commercial and residential installations where controlled switching is needed — emergency lighting test circuits, plant room isolation, boiler controls, server room shutdown sequences — the 20AX double pole configuration breaks both live and neutral lines when switched off, providing full isolation of the connected circuit. The module measures 24.8mm wide and 56.3mm tall, occupying a single module width in standard Knightsbridge grid systems.
The anthracite finish gives a dark grey-black tone that pairs with both modern black grid plates and lighter grey surrounds. The module fits into grid frames with a minimum 35mm back box depth and projects 2.5mm from the front of the frame once clipped in, sitting flush with the surrounding modules. The ABS body carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry indoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What grid frame does this module fit?
The module fits Knightsbridge modular grid mounting frames, sold separately. The module clips into the front of the frame without requiring screws or tools. A single-width module occupies one position in a 2-module, 3-module or 4-module grid frame.
What does EMG LTG TEST mean?
EMG LTG TEST stands for Emergency Lighting Test. The marking indicates the module is typically used to manually test emergency lighting circuits, though the switch itself can control any circuit within its 20AX rating.
Is the key removable?
Yes. The key can be removed once the switch is in the desired position, preventing unauthorised users from operating the circuit. This is useful for circuits that should only be switched by trained personnel.
What is the 20AX rating?
20AX refers to a 20 ampere switch rated for inductive and resistive loads. The double pole configuration breaks both live and neutral conductors, providing full isolation when switched off, unlike single pole switches which only break the live conductor.
