Description

The Mercury is a dummy bullet CCTV camera built from moulded plastic with a flashing infrared LED, mock cable and an adjustable wall bracket. The camera body measures 175mm long and sits on a pivoting mount that tilts and pans through a full 180-degree arc, allowing it to be angled towards driveways, doors or windows depending on where the bracket is fixed.

Designed as a visible deterrent rather than a functioning camera, the Mercury suits residential properties, garages, sheds and commercial premises where a security presence is needed but live recording is not required or where a dummy camera supplements real CCTV coverage in less critical zones. The flashing LED activates when batteries are installed and pulses continuously to simulate active recording. The mock cable runs from the camera body to the bracket mount, adding visual authenticity from a distance.

The plastic housing is weatherproof enough for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves or porch ceilings, though it lacks an IP rating and should not be exposed to direct rain over long periods. The camera runs on two AA alkaline batteries (not supplied) which power the flashing LED. Battery life depends on ambient temperature and battery quality but typically lasts 3-6 months of continuous use. The package includes the camera body, wall bracket, fixing screws and a CCTV warning sticker.

Frequently Asked

Does the LED flash continuously?

Yes. Once batteries are installed, the infrared LED pulses continuously to simulate active recording. The LED is visible in low light but less obvious in bright daylight.

Can it be used outdoors?

The Mercury is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, porch ceilings or covered walkways. It lacks an IP rating and should not be mounted in positions exposed to direct rain or heavy weather.

How long do the batteries last?

Battery life varies with ambient temperature and battery quality but typically ranges from 3 to 6 months of continuous use. Using good-quality alkaline batteries extends this period.

What's included in the box?

The package includes the dummy camera body, adjustable wall bracket, fixing screws, mock cable and a CCTV warning sticker. Batteries are not supplied.
