Description
The Knightsbridge 75mm bi-metal holesaw features 4/6 TPI (teeth per inch) variable tooth spacing on a hardened high-speed steel cutting edge, welded to a tough alloy steel body. The variable pitch tooth design reduces vibration and increases cutting speed when drilling through metal, hardwood and composite materials, while the 38mm cutting depth handles standard UK back boxes, downlights and cable entry holes in a single pass.
Designed for electricians fitting recessed downlights, CCTV installers cutting conduit entry holes, and joiners drilling large-diameter apertures in timber, the 75mm diameter suits products requiring a 75mm cut-out. The bi-metal construction allows the holesaw to cut through steel sheet up to 3mm, stainless steel, die-cast metal housings, hardwood flooring, marine plywood and ABS plastics without the teeth dulling or breaking. The holesaw requires arbor HSARBORL (sold separately) to mount on a standard drill chuck.
The yellow-coated body aids visibility on site and marks the holesaw as a Knightsbridge professional tool. The 38mm depth is sufficient for single-gang UK electrical back boxes (which typically measure 35mm deep) and most LED downlight housings, removing the need for stepped drilling or multiple saw changes during installation runs.

Frequently Asked
What arbor does this holesaw require?
The 75mm holesaw requires arbor HSARBORL to mount on a drill chuck. The arbor is sold separately and includes the pilot drill bit and threaded mounting shaft.
What materials can it cut?
The bi-metal construction cuts steel sheet up to 3mm, stainless steel, die-cast metals, hardwood flooring, marine plywood, MDF and ABS plastics. The 4/6 TPI variable tooth spacing handles both metal and wood without needing separate holesaws.
Is the 38mm depth sufficient for UK back boxes?
Yes. Standard single-gang UK electrical back boxes measure 35mm deep, so the 38mm cutting depth allows the holesaw to cut through the wall material and clear the back box recess in one pass without needing to drill from both sides.
What drill speed should be used?
For steel and stainless steel, use 300-500 RPM with cutting oil or lubricant. For hardwood and plywood, 500-800 RPM without lubricant. For plastics, 400-600 RPM. Higher speeds overheat the teeth and reduce holesaw life.
