The Glaera is a 90mm cube outdoor wall light constructed from powder-coated die-cast aluminium in grey, housing an integrated 6W 4000K LED behind tempered glass. The IP65 rating protects the internal LED and reflector from dust ingress and water jets, allowing the fitting to be mounted on exposed external walls, garage entrances, driveways and pathways without weatherproofing concerns.

Designed for functional outdoor lighting rather than decorative accent work, the Glaera casts cool white 4000K light downward onto paving, drives and steps where clear visibility matters after dark. The white internal reflector directs the LED output through the transparent tempered glass front panel, producing a focused wash of light on the ground directly below the fitting. The 102mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact on narrow pathways and tight porch areas where deeper projections would intrude on clearance zones.

The powder-coated grey finish is baked onto the die-cast aluminium body, providing resistance to UV degradation, coastal salt spray and frost without requiring annual repainting. The 90mm square footprint allows the fitting to be mounted on standard 100mm brick centres or centred on narrow pillar posts. The Glaera is non-dimmable and wired directly to mains supply via rear cable entry, so installation requires basic outdoor wiring competence or a qualified electrician.

What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the fitting is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand low-pressure water jets from any direction. This allows the Glaera to be installed on fully exposed walls, including coastal areas and positions under eaves where rain or garden hose spray might reach the fitting.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation, which at typical use patterns (6 hours per night) equates to 11-14 years before meaningful light degradation.

What colour is the light output?

The 4000K colour temperature produces cool white light, which is closer to daylight than warm white (2700-3000K). This is chosen for outdoor security and visibility lighting where colour accuracy and clarity matter more than ambient warmth.

Can it be mounted upward or horizontally?

The fitting is designed for vertical wall mounting with the light output directed downward. Mounting it upward or horizontally may affect the performance of the internal reflector and could allow water pooling on the glass panel despite the IP65 rating.
