Description

The Eveready 20W LED PIR floodlight combines a 1600lm LED array with a passive infrared motion sensor in a compact black die-cast housing rated IP44. The integrated PIR detects movement within a typical 8-10m detection range and automatically switches the light on for a preset duration (adjustable on installation), then switches off when no further motion is detected. The 4000K cool white output provides clear visibility for driveways, side entrances, garage doors and garden pathways where security lighting is needed without leaving a light permanently on.

Designed for sheltered outdoor positions under eaves, canopies or recessed soffits, the IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. The floodlight is not suitable for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or submersion. The 120-degree beam angle covers a wide area from a single mounting point, reducing the number of fittings needed for typical domestic driveways or side-access routes. The quick-fix bracket allows the light to be tilted and locked into position during installation, directing the beam where it's needed.

The LED array is integrated and non-replaceable, rated at 25,000 hours typical lifespan under normal use. At 20W input the floodlight delivers 80 lumens per watt, which is mid-range efficiency for this category of PIR floodlight. The black powder-coated aluminium housing measures 165mm wide by 145mm high by 44mm deep and weighs 0.38kg once the mounting bracket is fitted. The cool white 4000K temperature provides a neutral tone that suits functional outdoor applications where colour rendering is less critical than visibility and deterrence.

Frequently Asked

What detection range does the PIR sensor have?

PIR floodlights in this category typically detect movement within an 8-10m range depending on mounting height and the size of the moving object. The sensor sensitivity and duration settings are usually adjustable on the underside or rear of the housing during installation.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and dust but is not sufficient for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or submersion. The floodlight should be mounted under eaves, canopies, recessed soffits or other sheltered outdoor positions.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED array is integrated into the floodlight housing and cannot be replaced. The rated lifespan is 25,000 hours under normal use, which equates to approximately 8-10 years if the light activates for 2-3 hours per day.

What mounting height works best?

Typical mounting height for PIR floodlights is 2-3m above ground level. This height balances detection sensitivity (avoiding false triggers from small animals) with adequate coverage of the target area such as a driveway or pathway.
