Description

The Energizer 50W LED PIR floodlight outputs 6000 lumens at 6500K daylight white through an integrated LED array behind a 220mm square lens. A PIR motion sensor mounted below the lens triggers the light when movement is detected within an 8-metre detection range, then switches off after a pre-set duration that can be adjusted from 10 seconds to 5 minutes using the rotary dial on the sensor housing.

Designed for driveways, side entrances, parking areas, garden perimeters and building exteriors where triggered security lighting is needed rather than constant illumination. The IP44 rating provides protection against rain splash and dust ingress, making the unit suitable for wall-mounting under eaves or on exposed exterior walls where direct heavy rain is unlikely. The floodlight mounts on a twin-arm metal bracket that allows the light head to be angled after installation.

The die-cast aluminium body acts as a heat sink, dissipating the 50W thermal load from the LED array through finned channels on the rear face. The daylight 6500K colour temperature gives a crisp, clinical white light that renders colours accurately under night conditions and provides clear visibility for security cameras recording movement in the detection zone. The floodlight weighs approximately 1.2kg and fits a standard UK mains supply via the wiring terminal in the rear housing.

What is the PIR detection range and can it be adjusted?

The PIR sensor detects movement up to 8 metres away with a horizontal coverage of approximately 120 degrees. The sensitivity cannot be adjusted but the timer duration (how long the light stays on after triggering) can be set between 10 seconds and 5 minutes using the rotary dial on the sensor housing.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating protects against rain splash and dust but not direct heavy rain or pressure washing. The floodlight is best mounted under eaves, soffits or in recessed positions where it will not face direct downpours. For fully exposed locations an IP65 or IP66 rated unit would be more appropriate.

Is the LED integrated or replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the floodlight housing and cannot be replaced. The LED array is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, equivalent to around 10 years of typical triggered security use.

What colour is the housing?

The die-cast aluminium housing is finished in black. The lens is clear polycarbonate and the PIR sensor housing is black plastic.
