Description

The Energizer 20W Smart PIR Floodlight combines an integrated 2000-lumen LED with Wi-Fi control and passive infrared motion detection in a die-cast aluminium housing rated IP44 for outdoor use. The LED output is adjustable from 2700K to 6500K via the Energizer Smart app, allowing the colour temperature to shift from warm white to daylight depending on the time of day or security requirement.

Designed for driveways, side paths, back gardens and external building perimeters, the floodlight mounts on a quick-release bracket that tilts the head up to 180° vertically. The PIR sensor detects movement up to 8 metres away across a 120° detection zone, with sensitivity, lux threshold and time-on duration (5 seconds to 60 minutes) all configurable through the app. This means the light can be set to activate only after dusk, remain on for 30 seconds after last movement, or stay on continuously when needed.

The floodlight connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks (no hub required) and works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri for voice control. The Tuya-based app allows grouping of multiple Energizer smart devices, scheduling, and remote on/off when away from home. The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion in wet and coastal environments, and the 120° beam angle provides wide wash coverage across patio areas, driveways and doorways without creating hard-edged pools of light.

Does this require a hub or bridge to connect to Wi-Fi?

No. The floodlight connects directly to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network via the Energizer Smart app (powered by Tuya). No separate hub, bridge or gateway is needed.

What can I adjust through the app?

The app allows you to set colour temperature (2700K-6500K), PIR sensitivity, lux threshold (so the sensor only activates after dusk), and time-on duration from 5 seconds to 60 minutes. You can also create schedules, group multiple devices, and switch the light on or off remotely.

What's the PIR detection range and angle?

The PIR sensor detects movement up to 8 metres away across a 120° horizontal detection zone. Both the sensitivity and the lux threshold (ambient light level) at which the sensor activates can be adjusted in the app.

Can it be used in a bathroom or fully exposed location?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor use under eaves, canopies and external walls. It is not suitable for Zone 0 (inside showers or baths) but can be used in bathroom Zones 1, 2 and 3.
