Description

The Vividara-2 is a cylindrical plaster wall light with a white enamelled metal base and a single G9 bulb fitting positioned centrally within the cylinder. Light escapes both upward and downward from the open ends of the plaster cylinder, creating a dual-direction wash on the wall surface rather than projecting light into the room.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, staircases and living room accent walls, the Vividara-2 provides decorative wall-washing rather than task lighting. The 180mm projection from the wall sits the cylinder proud of the surface, allowing the up/down light pattern to develop fully. The G9 bulb (sold separately) needs to be dimmable if paired with a dimmer switch — the fitting carries an IP20 rating and is suitable for dry interior locations only.

The plaster body is cast rather than carved, giving a smooth matte finish without the weight of solid stone. The white enamelled metal base matches the plaster tone and provides the structural mounting point for the backplate, which fixes to a standard UK wall box. At 110mm height and 180mm projection the fitting suits walls with at least 300mm of clear space either side to allow the light pattern to develop without obstruction.

No. The Vividara-2 carries an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no protection against moisture and is suitable for dry interior spaces only. Bathrooms require fittings rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone.

The plaster cylinder is open at both the top and bottom, allowing light to escape upward and downward onto the wall surface. The effect is a dual wash of light on the wall rather than light projecting into the room, which works well as accent lighting on feature walls or in hallways.

What colour temperature G9 bulb should I use?

That depends on the room. Warm white (2700K-3000K) suits bedrooms, living rooms and hallways for a softer ambient feel. Neutral white (4000K) suits utility areas or modern interiors where a crisper light is preferred. The plaster itself is neutral white, so it will not colour-shift the light.
