Description
The Sparx is a 1205mm linear LED suspension light in black extruded aluminium, housing an integrated 40W LED that emits light both upwards and downwards from a slim 50mm-wide profile. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white light suited to task-focused environments where colour accuracy and visibility matter more than warm ambience.
Designed for offices, kitchens, workshops and commercial spaces, the bi-emission design directs approximately half the light output upwards to soften ceiling shadows and half downwards to illuminate worksurfaces or desks. The 2150mm cable allows the suspension height to be adjusted during installation, with typical mounting positions placing the luminaire 600-900mm below the ceiling plane over a desk or 700-1000mm above a worksurface depending on ceiling height and task requirements.
The black extruded aluminium body runs the full 1205mm length with returns at each end housing the LED modules and power supply. The matt black finish absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping the fixture visually recessive in dark-toned interiors or providing contrast in lighter spaces. The Sparx is modular and multiple lengths can be run in parallel or end-to-end configurations where continuous linear lighting is needed across longer spans.
The integrated LED is rated at 40W total draw across both up and down modules. The fixture is not dimmable and carries an IP20 rating, limiting it to dry indoor environments. The aluminium extrusion acts as both structure and heatsink, managing LED thermal output without requiring active cooling or visible fins.

Frequently Asked
Is the Sparx dimmable?
No. The integrated LED runs at full output when powered and is not compatible with dimmer switches or phase-cut dimming systems. If dimming is required, consider pairing with a smart switch or relay that offers on/off control only.
What is bi-emission and why does it matter?
Bi-emission means the light is emitted in two directions: upwards towards the ceiling and downwards towards the floor or worksurface. This reduces the contrast between the bright luminaire and the dark ceiling above it, softening shadows and creating more comfortable ambient conditions in task-lit spaces.
Can multiple Sparx units be joined together?
The Sparx is modular and can be installed in parallel runs or end-to-end configurations. Each unit requires its own power supply and ceiling fixing, but multiple lengths can be visually aligned to create continuous linear lighting across longer spans such as kitchen islands or open-plan office zones.
What mounting height works best?
Over a desk or worksurface, suspend the Sparx 600-900mm below the ceiling plane, which typically places it 700-1000mm above the work surface in a standard 2.4m-height room. Lower suspension increases downlight intensity but reduces the uplight spread on the ceiling.
