Description

The Sal is a single GU10 spotlight with a cylindrical satin gold head mounted on a matt black square backplate. The spotlight head pivots through approximately 180° vertically and 90° horizontally, allowing light to be directed at specific surfaces, artworks, reading positions or architectural features. The GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to the rated wattage (sold separately).

Designed for bedrooms, home offices, hallways and living rooms where directed light is needed without a full ceiling fitting, the Sal works as reading light beside a bed, task light above a desk, or accent light highlighting wall-hung artwork. The 80mm square backplate fixes to a standard ceiling or wall junction box using two fixing screws. The 128mm projection from the wall when fully extended allows the head to clear wall edges and direct light parallel to the wall surface.

The satin gold finish on the cylinder has a brushed texture that softens reflections and pairs well with warm brass fixtures, warm-toned timber and contemporary interiors mixing metallics. The matt black backplate provides contrast and frames the gold head cleanly against white or pale-painted walls. At 0.3kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard fixing without additional support.

What bulb does it take?

The Sal takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in 2700K-3000K for warm task or accent light. The fitting is rated for 100-240V mains and accepts any GU10 within the wattage limit shown in the Specification table.

Can the spotlight head be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cylindrical head pivots on a ball joint, allowing it to be angled towards specific surfaces, reading positions or artworks. The adjustment range is approximately 180° vertically and 90° horizontally from the fixed backplate position.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb used. If you fit a dimmable GU10 LED bulb and pair it with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the Sal can be dimmed. Standard non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

Can it be ceiling-mounted as well as wall-mounted?

Yes. The backplate fixes to any standard ceiling or wall junction box. When ceiling-mounted the spotlight head can be angled down towards furniture, floors or specific room zones. When wall-mounted it works well for highlighting artwork or providing reading light beside a bed.
