Description

The Sal is a 385mm matt white wall light with a single cylindrical spotlight head mounted on a curved vertical arm. The head houses a GU10 fitting and pivots on a brass-bushed joint, allowing the light to be directed towards a reading position, across a wall as wash light, or downwards as accent lighting. The circular backplate, arm and head are all finished in the same low-sheen matt white powder coat.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and reading corners where directional task light is needed without a bulky fitting, the Sal projects 165mm from the wall when the head is angled forward. The 100mm-wide footprint sits comfortably on walls between doorways or above side tables without overwhelming the space. The GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the fitting's maximum rating (bulb sold separately), giving control over brightness and colour temperature.

The matt white finish absorbs reflections under daylight and sits neutrally against white, pale grey and off-white wall colours without creating a visible contrast line around the backplate. The 0.55kg weight requires standard wall fixings into plasterboard over studs or directly into masonry — the backplate conceals two fixing points once the unit is mounted. The fitting is not dimmable unless paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and compatible dimmer circuit.

What bulb does the Sal take?

The Sal uses a standard GU10 spotlight bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for reading or task lighting. The fitting accepts GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulbs up to the maximum rating shown in the Specification table.

Can the spotlight head be adjusted?

Yes. The cylindrical head pivots on its mounting joint, allowing the light to be directed upwards, downwards, or angled towards a specific area such as a bedside reading position or a wall feature.

Is the Sal dimmable?

The fitting itself is not dimmable. However, if you fit a dimmable GU10 bulb and install the light on a compatible dimmer circuit, the light output can be controlled. Check bulb and dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

What wall fixings are required?

The 0.55kg weight requires two wall fixings into plasterboard over studs, or directly into masonry using appropriate plugs and screws. The backplate has two fixing holes that are concealed once the unit is mounted. Fixings are not included.
