Description

The QTX VH2 is a dual channel VHF wireless microphone system built around a half-width 1U receiver and two handheld transmitters. It gives you two independent channels running on 173.8MHz and 174.8MHz, so a pair of presenters or performers can work at the same time without swapping a single mic between them. The receiver slots neatly into a rack or sits on a shelf, and the transmitters follow the familiar handheld shape at 270 x 45mm.

Range is rated up to 50m, which covers most halls, small stages, classrooms and function rooms. The receiver connects to your mixer or amplifier via balanced XLR and a 6.3mm jack (quarter-inch jack) output, and everything you need to get going is in the box: the mains adaptor for the receiver, a jack lead, and two 9V PP3 batteries for the transmitters. Operation is licence-free in the UK on these VHF frequencies, so there are no ongoing fees or paperwork to worry about.

One point worth noting: a maximum of two VHF frequencies can be run together, so the VH2 works as a complete two-channel setup on its own rather than being expanded into larger multi-mic rigs. Signal-to-noise ratio is quoted at greater than 85dB with THD below 0.2%, giving clean speech and vocals for the kind of everyday jobs this system is made for. The receiver weighs 573g and each handheld transmitter is 190g without its battery, so it stays easy to carry and quick to set up wherever you need it.
