Description
The NU-X WK-400 is a digital piano built in a traditional upright format, with 88 full-weighted hammer-action keys spread across 7.3 octaves. It comes complete with a stand assembly that houses three pedals for soft, damper and sustain control, so you get the feel and layout of an acoustic instrument at home. Sound plays through base-mounted stereo speakers, or you can plug in headphones at the rear when you want to practise quietly.
There are 128 internal voices to choose from, and you can split the keyboard or layer two sounds together with an overall 80-note polyphony. Reverb and chorus effects can be dialled in to shape the tone, and four dynamic velocity curves let you match the response to your playing style. Transpose runs from -12 to +12 semitones. An internal metronome offers six beat patterns, and a record function lets you capture what you play. There are also 52 demo songs built in, useful for reference or practice.
For connections, USB type B handles MIDI to and from a computer for recording and playback. An L+R Aux input (RCA phono) takes backing tracks, while separate L+R line outputs feed a PA, monitors or a recording device. There is also a stereo 6.3mm headphone jack at the rear. Power comes from the supplied 12Vdc UK mains adaptor. The cabinet measures 1354 x 772 x 332mm and weighs 45kg, with traditional styling that suits home, studio and educational use.
