Description

The NU-X DM-8 is the flagship digital drum kit from NU-X, built to give a responsive, accurate real-kit feel for demanding drummers. Every pad is fitted with industry standard Remo mesh heads, tested to over a million strokes. The 12" snare uses a 3-point trigger with a separate rim sensor and comes with a fully adjustable dual-braced tripod stand. Three further pads act as high, mid and floor toms, each with separate sensors for rim shots, while a 10" mesh head bass drum pad with pedal and angled front brace gives authentic kick resistance and stability.

The 12" hi-hat mounts to an articulated pedal stand with a motion sensor for genuine stick feel and true response to open, closed or half-closed pressure. A pair of 12" crash cymbals each carry bow and edge trigger zones, and the 14" ride adds a bell zone. All pieces except the snare and hi-hat fix to a curved rack stand with height and tilt adjustable mounts. The control module offers deep editing of sounds, effects and settings through a multi-control surface and a menu-driven colour TFT display. You get a 300 tone sound set, and custom WAV tones load from a USB flash drive.

Practice tools include a rhythm coach and internal jam-along tracks, plus WAV recording to USB and audio streaming over Bluetooth. A separate USB type B connection links to a PC or Mac for direct digital recording and MIDI work in a DAW, while the 5-pin DIN MIDI out triggers external sound modules. An auxiliary input sits alongside stereo or mono outputs for a PA or backline amp, plus a headphones output for monitoring. The latest firmware adds VariTone technology and 6 new drum kit packs, capturing subtle variations in striking position to reproduce the natural tone and dynamic response of an acoustic kit.
