Maris 8 Light Crystal Chandelier - Chrome

The Maris is a 48cm crystal chandelier built around a polished chrome drum frame with eight E14 bulb positions arranged in a circular configuration. Faceted crystal prisms hang in overlapping rows around the perimeter, forming a textured curtain of glass that catches and refracts light from each of the eight bulbs. The chrome frame provides structural rigidity while the crystal elements create the visual mass.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Maris works as a centrepiece over dining tables or in open-plan spaces where the light needs to fill a larger volume. The 22cm height of the drum itself is compact enough to avoid overwhelming lower ceilings when paired with an adjustable drop rod. Each of the eight E14 bulbs (sold separately) is concealed behind the crystal layers, turning the prisms into the primary light source rather than exposing bare bulbs.

The weight of 9kg comes primarily from the density of the crystal elements and the solid chrome construction, so ceiling fixings must be rated appropriately. The polished chrome finish reflects both natural daylight and artificial light, amplifying the sparkle from the cut crystal. The faceted crystal prisms are arranged in repeating wave patterns that create depth and movement when viewed from different angles, with each prism edge acting as a micro-reflector.

What bulbs does the Maris take?

The Maris uses eight E14 small Edison screw (SES) bulbs, each rated up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to balance brightness with energy efficiency.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs you choose. LED E14 bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most household dimmer switches, but always check the specific bulb packaging for compatibility before installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drum itself is 22cm tall, plus the suspension drop and canopy. For dining table installation the fixture typically sits 700-850mm above the table surface, which suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The drop rod is usually adjustable during installation to match your room.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal prism with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the chrome frame or getting water into the bulb holders. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on crystal.
