Description
This Citronic microphone lead runs 6 metres between a female XLR and a male XLR connector, so you can link a mic to a mixer, or extend an existing run, without fuss. It carries balanced signals for clean sound over longer distances, keeping interference and hum to a minimum. The blue jacket makes it easy to spot when you are colour-coding a stage or studio setup.
Inside the cable are pure copper conductors with cotton reinforcement, giving you good conductivity along with strength where the lead flexes. The rubberised jacket has a soft grip and resists tangling, so coiling and uncoiling stays quick between sets. The XLR connectors are die-cast with a locking latch on the female end, and the connections are machine-soldered for consistency across the run. Full shielding wraps the conductors to guard against unwanted noise.
The cable measures 6mm in diameter and uses 20 x 0.08mm conductors. Pin-out follows the standard balanced wiring: pin 1 ground, pin 2 hot, pin 3 cold. That makes it a straight fit for dynamic and condenser microphones as well as most balanced line-level gear. In the UK we tend to say lead, while in the US the same item is called a cable, so both terms point to the exact same product here. If you need a longer or shorter version, this range covers several lengths in the same build.

Frequently Asked
What length is this lead?
It measures 6 metres between the female and male XLR connectors.
Is the cable balanced?
Yes. It carries balanced signals wired as pin 1 ground, pin 2 hot and pin 3 cold, which helps reject noise over longer runs.
What connectors does it use?
A female XLR at one end and a male XLR at the other, both die-cast with a locking latch.
Will it work with condenser microphones?
Yes. The balanced XLR wiring suits both dynamic and condenser mics, as well as most balanced line-level equipment.
What are the conductors made from?
Pure copper conductors with cotton reinforcement, using 20 x 0.08mm strands inside a 6mm shielded jacket.
Does the jacket resist tangling?
Yes. The rubberised, soft-grip jacket is designed to be anti-tangle, so it coils and stores easily.
