Description

This retro braided microphone lead gives you a reliable XLRF to XLRM connection for home recording or live music on stage. The female XLR connects to your microphone, while the male XLR runs into your mixer, interface or PA input, so you get a balanced signal that keeps noise down over the length of the run. It's a straightforward cable built to do a proper job show after show.

The lead is made with pure copper wire conductors, which helps reduce interference and gives you a clean signal path. Inside you'll find two conductors of 18 x 0.12mm strands, wired to the standard 3 pin XLR pin-out: 1 for ground, 2 hot and 3 cold. The connectors are high quality 3 pin fittings on both ends, and the cable measures 6.6mm in diameter, so it stays flexible without feeling flimsy in the hand.

The braided outer has an anti-tangle finish that makes coiling and storage easy after a session, and the braiding adds long lasting protection against the knocks that come with regular gigging. We offer this lead in 0.5m, 1.5m, 3m and 6m lengths, so you can pick the run that suits your setup, whether that's a short patch between two units or a longer stretch from the stage to the desk. Note that a microphone lead like this is the same thing as a mic cable, just different wording you might see used.

Frequently Asked

What does XLRF-XLRM mean?

It means the lead has a female XLR connector at one end and a male XLR at the other. The female end plugs into your microphone and the male end goes into a mixer, audio interface or PA input.

What lengths are available?

You can choose from 0.5m, 1.5m, 3m and 6m. Pick the shorter runs for patching between units and the longer ones for reaching from the stage to the desk.

Does the copper wire make a difference?

Yes. The pure copper conductors help reduce interference and keep the signal clean, which matters for both recording and live use.

Is this cable good for live performance?

It is. The braided outer gives long lasting protection against knocks, and the balanced 3 pin connection keeps noise down, so it suits stage work as well as home recording.

How thick is the cable?

The cable measures 6.6mm in diameter. That keeps it flexible for easy coiling while still feeling solid enough for regular use.

What is the pin-out?

It follows the standard 3 pin XLR layout: pin 1 is ground, pin 2 is hot and pin 3 is cold.
